Self Reliance

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

As Americans we have a tendency to be self-reliant. As a Christian that tendency robs us of receiving many of God’s full blessings. Many times we accept far less than necessary because we were unwilling to go to God to meet our needs.

I would that you will look to God only as your source of supply. Today why don’t you determine that you're going to look to Him alone to provide for your needs?

Wisdom in Making Decisions

I have spent over a decade of my life in higher education in the pursuit of knowledge. I believe in education but feel that acumen is a greater asset in life than education. You see there are many people that are full of book knowledge but have no sense. I think that is the reason the Bible instructs us to pray for the leaders of our country . . . but I digress.

My desire is that God gives me wisdom. As a parent, a husband, and a pastor I ask God to help me be wise in my decision making. I pray today that you too will make wise choices and good decisions.
